Bring Zippy back into the Sun!

Zippy's most recent visit to The Senator Theatre, "Solar Energy", was
published in over 100 major daily papers across the nation on Tuesday,
October 7th, but not in the pages of The Baltimore Sun.

For over 22 years in th Sun, Bill Griffith's beloved comic character, Zippy,
has delighted his cult legion of fans in an extensive series of strips that capture
Baltimore's unique idiosyncrasies and iconic architecture. From the Sip & Bite
and Capt. James, to the Bel Loc Diner, The Mr. Boh sign, Nipper and The
Senator Theatre, Zippy loves Baltimore and Baltimore loves Zippy!

The Sunpaper has been revamped in an effort to expand its readership by
marketing the publication as one that is tuned into Baltimore's local news,
its neighborhoods and culture. In the transition, Zippy was dropped from
the Sun, with management citing its reader's feedback on what
strips should be retained. The decision to drop Zippy based on a
reader's poll seems flawed when Zippy's fans fit the
demographic that the Sun would want to attract!

The Sun's gaffe in dropping Zippy from its pages can be
rectified. Please take a moment to express your support
for bringing Zippy back into the Sun!
